T-Zones Hack on Firmware 3.0

Posted in How-To by meebz. Published June 23rd, 2009

T-Zones is disappearing on T-mobile as the company opps for more lucrative data usuage plans and web2go. For those who still have T-Zones on their account and miss the T-Zones hack that was available in Cydia prior to firmware 3.0, don’t worry because no hack is necessary.

The New iPhone 3G[s]: Unveiled

Posted in News by meebz. Published June 8th, 2009

After months of deliberation and speculation the new iPhone 3G is unveiled with a new name: iPhone 3Gs

iphone 3gs

In the most anti-climatic fashion, the new iPhone will not be shooting lightning from its eyes or fireballs from its arse; and no, it is not 12 feet tall. It looks identical to the iPhone 3G and it has a name, granted not as interesting as the speculative names were, but a name none the less.

The new iPhone 3G emerges like the Penguin from Batman Returns. Don’t call me iPhone 3G. I have a name, my name is Oswald Cobblepot…err…iPhone 3G[s].

When you have to explain what the letter means, then it is not as impressive as it sounds. The [s] stands for speed. Yup…speed. I’ll give you a moment to take that in…

New Features
- Up to 32 GB of Storage
- 2x the 3G Speed
- Video Recording/Editing
- 3 MP Camera
- Voice Control
- Compass
- Cut, Copy n’ Paste
- Landscape Keyboard
- MMS
- Tethering
- Voice Memo
- FindMyiPhone/Remote Wipe (MobileMe required)
- Plus Less Notable Items

Apple iPhone 3G 16GB Never-Locked Available

Posted in News by meebz. Published May 8th, 2009

How much are you willing to pay for a never-locked iPhone 3G capable of software updates with a full Apple warranty?

iphone3gneverlocked

Buy.com believes you’d pay $1099.

For only $400-500 more than AT&T’s current selling price for an Apple iPhone 3G without a contract (but still locked to AT&T), you can purchase a never-locked iPhone 3G with full Apple warranty to use on any gsm carrier.

A no-contract Apple iPhone 3G locked to AT&T retails at $599 for an 8GB and $699 for a 16GB. Which, as discussed in a former post, is ridiculously overpriced. iPhone 3G Comparison Shop

The never-locked iPhone 3G selling price is comparable to the price of a new unibody Macbook. Considering the new iPhone is slated for a June release and other carriers are bound to pick up the iPhone (so that Apple will have a chance to actually compete with Blackberry), I would recommend waiting it out.

If you’re going to sell a 2nd generation iPhone for a premium when the 3rd generation iPhone is slated for an upcoming release then “that’s a dealbreaker, ladies.”

Enhancing your contact list with photos is just another way developers are attempting to eliminate a visual void left by Apple.

Here is a short list of free and paid apps that will satisfy your visual needs.

ContactFlow, developed by Fabien Foulon, may not fit into this list, but I did have to mention it for the unique coverflow function it integrates into your profile pictures.
