Celebrate Easter Weekend with Free Apps
It’s Good Friday, a time for fasting and penance. So for those practicing, this is a day of rewards and remembrance*.
For those not practicing, this is a day to give Installous a break. Seriously, their servers will continue to crash and they will continue to require more “donations.”
If you have an insatiable hunger for free apps after a long day of abstaining from eating meat, then get your fill below…
FantasyLens
Remember those dolls of animals with baby faces, those were creepy. This app is not, put your friends faces on random works of art.
BumpChat
This is a dating app. Meet people around you, get to know them, and quit peddling your availability on twitter.
ILoseWeight
Stand on your iPhone**. Track your weight and bmi.
DrunkDialNo
One less thing to worry about. Blocks you from contacting people you probably shouldn’t after a night of drinking. For some people this app should be mandatory.
Pret-a-Yoga
Girls in skintight, primary-colored outfits get in yoga positions.
TypeType SpeedTyper
A game that penalizes you for typing too fast. For others it might actually help improve your iPhone texting speed.

*That Jesus was crucified as a living sacrifice for the atonement of our sins. He died, was buried and then resurrected.
**Just Kidding
Developers are always offering promotional downloads or in most cases redemptive ones.
If an app is complained about enough, a developer will offer it for free until their next update and promise to fix it. If an app is new to the market, the developer promotes it through a free limited time download so it can create buzz. It’s a never ending cycle that benefits some consumers and screws others.
So take part and download these free apps with a clear conscience.
Here is a list of free apps available for a limited time, beginning on April 8th. Hurry up and download. Don’t forget to check back often for updates.
TwitterPics
Sick of following people, follow their photos.
Splat!
Squish happy bugs, because well…they’re bugs.
Redo
Another todo list, but this one’s free.
iGlider
Fly a paper airplane through mazes.
iEggs
Take eggs back to their nest.
MixDeck Scratch DJ
Work a turntable, but not to your songs.
Return of Free Apps
These applications are available for a limited time only. So be sure to download yours today. Check back often for new App Store Freebies.
Gamebox Arcade

Pop it, twist it, turn it, squeeze it, spin it, flip it (just like that commercial)
…for old school sound effects.
Thumb Wars

If you’ve watched “Over the Top” with Sylvester Stallone, than you know this game has nothing to do with it…except maybe the training part. Training to be a better thumb war…er…warrior.
Praise a Kid

When you just can’t find something nice to say about someones kid…
Laser Tag

“This game does not actually fire a laser from your device”
(Actual Game Warning)
April Fools: A Recap and the Resulting Aftermath
If you missed out on April Fools, here’s a quick recap of the most memorable contributions.
Microsoft Buys Cydia

If you noticed the new blurb on Cydia’s homepage, you’re not the only one. iPhone forums around the web were flooded with posts cursing Jay Freeman’s name for selling out. Youtube was also undertaken by users uploading angry video posts.
It’s actually surprising that many people do not take into account that developers have senses of humor as well.
Although judging by the explanation, maybe it was believable…

if, in the words of Wayne Campbell, you were a gulli-bull or even a gulli-calf.
Windows Emulated on the iPhone
The real question is, why would you ever want to run a mess of an operating system like Windows on your iPhone…I guess why not.
Here’s a loading screen, filled with fantastically useless words.

and a far more accurate portrayal of Windows than you see on commercials with little kids claiming to be PCs.

If you have a favorite April Fools iPhone related prank, please post it below.

CyDelete gives Cydia the form and function of AppStore removal.
