Speculative Analysis of 3rd Generation iPhone

pineappleiphone

The most probable hardware enhancements for the 3rd generation iPhone are listed below. This list was derived through research into Apple’s buying strategies and through reputable online sources.

1. Release date in June
2. Memory Upgrade to 32GB
3. Camera Upgrade to 3.2 megapixels
4. Faster 3G speeds up to 7.2 mbps

You can speculate about an iPhone 4G, but Apple needs to save something for next year. Other enhancements may include improved graphics, louder speakers, and a slight change in body shape (whether lighter, thinner or wider, Apple will continue to rejuvenate the accessories market).

These hardware upgrades, in addition to software upgrades in firmware 3.0, will further increase the gap between the iPhone and its competitors for years to come.

The iPhone will undoubtly follow the path of the iPod and dominate the market for years, if not indefinitely.

April Fools: A Recap and the Resulting Aftermath

If you missed out on April Fools, here’s a quick recap of the most memorable contributions.

Microsoft Buys Cydia

cydia

If you noticed the new blurb on Cydia’s homepage, you’re not the only one. iPhone forums around the web were flooded with posts cursing Jay Freeman’s name for selling out. Youtube was also undertaken by users uploading angry video posts.

It’s actually surprising that many people do not take into account that developers have senses of humor as well.

Although judging by the explanation, maybe it was believable…

if, in the words of Wayne Campbell, you were a gulli-bull or even a gulli-calf.

Windows Emulated on the iPhone

The real question is, why would you ever want to run a mess of an operating system like Windows on your iPhone…I guess why not.

Here’s a loading screen, filled with fantastically useless words.

and a far more accurate portrayal of Windows than you see on commercials with little kids claiming to be PCs.

Mac OSX 10.5.6 DFU Mode Workaround

Posted in How-To by meebz. Published April 2nd, 2009

Mac OSX 10.5.6 may not recognize your iPhone in DFU Mode, an essential facet of jailbreaking and unlocking your iPhone.

DFU (Device Firmware Upgrade) mode allows you to upgrade or downgrade your iPhone OS, bypassing your current OS.

If you have attempted to use QuickPwn or PwnageTool to modify your iPhone on Mac OSX 10.5.6, you may notice that it hangs when it attempts to access your iPhone in DFU mode. To re-enable recognition follow the steps below.

Tips:

-Make sure to not have any additional USB peripherals attached
(that includes a USB hub)
