“Instant Buzz Apps”

How do you make your AppStore App stand out from the slew of applications out there hoping to make their way to your iPhone screen?

The answer is simple, “A Free Limited Offering”. It’s a great strategy that skyrocket’s your download numbers and reviews across the web. You couldn’t ask for better publicity.

Below are two Apps you should download before they become “Pay-Apps”.

AirSharing

Photobucket
Free: Until September 22, 2008
Price: $6.99

AirSharing is based on a premise that has been around since the iPhone was first Jailbroken. It was the idea and execution of independent file viewers (PDF/DOC/Etc).

Where AirSharing excels is in it’s simplicity of form and function. (ie. you no longer need to jailbreak your iPhone and SSH files into it)

AirSharing connects to your Mac (or PC) as a wireless device and allows you to transfer and view files easily and between multiple computers.

It’s simple to set up and handles the same formats that safari is capable of.

Set Up Steps.

1. Run AirSharing on your iPhone
2. Click Your Finder Icon on your Mac OS
3. Press Command (”Apple”) + K
4. Type in the HTTP:// address on the bottom pane of the APP
5. Drag and Drop Files

Earthscape

Photobucket
Free: Until ???
Price: $4.99

Earthscape has been deemed “Google Earth” on the iPhone. What seperates this App from Google Earth, is that it allows you to take real time photos of your location. (these appear as floating pictures across the globe)

It has been reviewed as slow and choppy, but the program works extremely well, expanding on the iPhone’s numerous capabilities.

iPhone 3G: Shocking Recall

Posted in Accessories, How-To by meebz. Published September 19th, 2008

“Power Adapter Exchange Program”

iPhone 3G Power Adapter

“Apple Recall” sounds more like a finely tuned buzz word for their Time Machine application or the latest Arnold Schwarzenegger flick, rather than the serious Apple concern that it is quickly growing to become.

Apple has recently addressed reports that the lifeblood of the iPhone 3G, the power adapter, contains prongs that are prone to breaking off in your outlet, resulting in electric shock. Rather than downplay the issue as circumstantial, Apple has announced a worldwide recall of all iPhone 3G power adapters.

Exchanges are available via web and instore beginning October 10th. In the meantime we strongly recommend using the supplied usb adapter to power your iPhone via your computer.

If you’re looking for an iPhone, Craigslist is the best way to go. There’s no waiting, it’s constantly updated and less than the price of shopping on eBay.

Craigslist’s average list price for a 1st Generation 8 GB iPhone is $280-350. The 16 GB receiving $365-$425.
Craigslist’s average list price for a 2nd Generation 8 GB iPhone 3G is $499-650. The 16 GB receiving $600-$850.
eBay’s prices are, on average, $50-200 higher than Craigslist prices.

Inflating the value of the iPhone cannot be more prevalent than in the online marketplace. There are an illicit majority of local adverts who are greedy, misled, or both.

This post is dedicated to help you come to a conclusion regarding the iPhone’s worth.
You can negotiate on craigslist, so use that to your advantage.

Don’t pay more than $300 for a 1st Gen iPhone 8GB, $400 for a 16GB
or $450 for an 2nd Gen iPhone 8G or $600 for a 16GB

Prices will go down as steadily as Apple’s stock and eventually it will be offered without having to be activated in store and on other networks. In the meantime, be patient and grab yourself an older one.

Aside from Craigslist and eBay, you can also try this method Get an iPhone 3G w/o a Contract for $199
